In the Beginning...

You guys don't know me.  So far all you know is I wrote an ebook and maybe you googled me (YOU ARE AWESOME!)  and now you are here on this brand spanking new blog.  Thank you.
Thank you for reading what I have been up doing late at night for the last few months, and thank you for writing to tell me your feelings.  I love the emails from people telling me what should happen in the next book, keep it coming.  I love hearing about how you loved Grace.  I loved her too!  So here's just a little view into the Grace and Shane story...kind of behind the scenes view.  And before anyone says anything...all the photos I post here will be photos I have either 1) taken myself  2) purchased from a stock photography site or 3) images that I have created.
I love books.  I love to create things, and always since I was a little girl, wanted to make books.  I wanted to illustrate them, write them, read them, do anything that had to do with books.  So one day I was searching for some stock photos on 123rf.com by a photographer named Stanislav Perov and I saw her.  Grace.

I sat at my computer that night and started writing.  The story just happened in my head like a friggin' movie. All starting with the beeping of the machines. I literally saw everything and just typed.
I didn't want to tell too much about Grace at first, because she had gone through so much in my head.  If I had told her multiple life stories my fingers would have fallen off.  I didn't even write her age.  She's kind of ageless to me.
I can't even describe in words here how spending my nights with my laptop on my legs made me the happiest person in the universe.  I would sit on my couch with my very adorable 2 year old daughter falling asleep next to me.  My older six year old daughter, rocking in the recliner watching her nightly shows.  This became our routine.  I had my playlist running low in the background on a looping cycle.  The music and the calmness of the nights helped the story to come.  My playlist was extremely important, it made it somehow more intense in my mind.
My Playlist:
Love the Way You Lie by Eminem
Lips of an Angel by Hinder
Mad World from Donnie Darko
Heron Blue by Sun Kil Moon
Lightning Crashes by Live
Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright
Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin
The One That Got Away by Katy Perry
Someone Like You by Adele
Only Girl (In the World) by Rihana
I wrote the story for a few weeks and then I stopped.  I started feeling like an idiot, I hadn't even reread any of it.  I left the story saved on my computer under a file titled Angel Crap.
Then after a few nights of no writing I had a dream.  My husband was at work, my kids in their beds and Shane busted through my door in a frenzy.  He stood at the foot of my bed (HE WAS SOOOO HOT!) and yelled at me to get off my ass and start writing again.
So I did.
Thank you so much for reading it.  I promise there will be more.
